Environmental education

The conservation and forest restoration of a given region depends on the involvement and approximation of society as a whole with the Forest. For this, it is necessary to bring the knowledge and importance of forest ecosystems and the wealth of associated natural resources to a diverse audience, creating incentives and motivating people to preserve, plant and care for this heritage.

Thinking about experiences that promote the appreciation of the forest biodiversity of the Atlantic Forest, the project foresees environmental education actions that include workshops, courses, conversation circles, awareness-raising experiences, field trips and various activities in schools and rural communities involved in the project.

The Environmental Education (EE) actions within the scope of the Pomares project aim to disseminate knowledge and conservation of the Atlantic Forest in 8 rural schools involving educational processes over 1 year. In each school, the EE actions are elaborated considering the school reality, where the planning is done with the teachers and the direction aiming at a greater integration with the contents and teaching proposal of the schools.
